Assistant  Branch Planner

 

Reports to:  Branch Merchandiser

 

Role: The Assistant Branch Planner role sits within the Merchandising function. Working alongside the Branch Merchandiser, the Assistant Branch Planner's key tasks include maximising sales and profit for the company's stores.

 

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Works with Branch Merchandiser to ensure optimum stock levels and availability throughout the season in line with demand and assortment strategy

  • Confidently identifies opportunities and risks  to store availability and proposes solutions.

  • Works closely with all stakeholders to ensure seasonal stock builds are achieved.

  • Works closely with Merchandising to develop a grading structure that drives availability and ensures sales and profit are optimised.

  • Inventory Planning

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the flow planning process , Retail, and Supply Chain, and how this impacts on Branch Merchandising and Merchandising

  • Space Planning

  • Works with the Branch Merchandiser to review space in existing and new stores to maximise sales, profit and achieve optimum availability throughout the season, without over-stocking stores, whilst identifying space opportunities.

  • Planograming and Grading

  • Works with Branch Merchandiser to ensure planograms maximise sales and profit and are reflective of current availability, communicating as appropriate  Works with Branch Merchandiser to develop the grading structure to drive profit in stores, whilst considering range architecture and store trading similarities.

  • System Skills

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the allocation system and is aware of the DC pick process and how this impacts stock in stores

  • Effective Communication

  • Develop and maintains positive cross functional and external relationships. Becomes an effective presenter with a strong influencing style.

  • Manages Self

  • Deputises confidently for Merchandiser. Seeks opportunities and initiates own development.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Systems/planning tools – ideally  data warehouse/cube, planograms, allocation systems, excel and Outlook

  • Knowledge of shop operations / retail experience

  • Acts professionally at all times
